🚨 Weekly Highlights 🚨
Who Said Cricket’s Not Popular?
The NFT cricket platform Rario raised a $120M round led by Dream Capital. Rario is the NBA Topshot of cricket, selling in-game moments to cricket fans. VO2 isn’t big on the collectible-highlight-type NFTs, but there’s no denying that there’s a huge demand for them.
Investors are throwing money into the cricket NFT market. Another cricket NFT marketplace called FanCraze raised $100 million in their Series-A. Our guess would be the collectibles are going to fall out of fashion eventually, there are only so many digital collectibles that can be minted before they lose their allure. But for now, digital collectible companies are getting paid.
Golden State Warriors Love NFTs
Right up the street from Silicon Valley, the Golden State Warriors are not afraid of trying out new tech. They’re launching an NFT campaign with roughly 3,000 collectibles that will be airdropped to fans as they progress farther through the playoffs. Pretty cool idea - if the Warriors end up making a deep run, these collectibles will likely hold a lot of value. Too bad Ja and the Grizzlies are gonna knock them out in the second round.
After Adding ESPN, Autograph Continues It’s Partnership Tear, Adding Penske Racing NFTs
It’s not hard to secure partnerships when your name is Tom Brady. That’s become evidently clear as Autograph inks another deal with the racing platform Penske. Autograph has already been on a tear making collectible partnerships with the NFL, the PGA, and now racing. Topshot still owns the collectible game when it comes to the NBA however.
Collectibles are cool but engagement is cooler. Check out the VO2 marketplace if you haven’t already, our first four athlete tokens are live and purchasable!
